Every bride has that certain one thing about her wedding on which she refuses to compromise. For me it was the flowers. I knew I wanted a florist who could give me a superior level of creativity, personalized attention and a stunning floral design. I also knew that everything would be a tad more difficult because I was planning my Virginia wedding from New York City.
I was only able to meet with Yellow Door once in a face to face meeting during the entire planning process. To make matters more stressful I had a very particular concept I wanted to achieve but lacked the ability to articulate my vision. My request went something like: "I'd like the flowers to reflect the beauty of an autumn sunset without having too many overpowering traditional dark colors with predominant hues being apricot, gold, burgundy and touches of light blue." I then showed magazine photos of some designs I liked and others that I didn't. I was presented with an incredibly detailed and thorough proposal which we tweaked over the next few months through e-mail and phone calls.
On the day of my wedding when I was finally able to see the vision come to fruition, it was as if they took a snapshot from inside my head of exactly what I wanted and made it come to life. Even my husband and the groomsmen could appreciate the care and creativity put into our wedding designs. Our family and friends continue to rave about the gorgeous centerpieces and bouquets.
The people at Yellow Door were thorough in their work, well respected by all of my other wedding vendors, and able to think creatively to accomplish every request I brought to them. They were always, always on time and added little touches here and there to really make our reception space extra decadent without the “nickel and dime” point of view. It is obvious they take pride in every event and truly made us feel special. The level of service and the quality of work exceeded every single one my expectations and the flowers were nothing short of spectacular.
